Just an update on the hassle I had with the agency (rhymes with Dan derson) over the conduct regs as I have ended the contract early. They have been the worst pimp I have worked with. It took a while to get a copy of the contract back from them as I suspect they didn't want me to have it until after I'd been with client more than one calendar month as I would have had to have given four weeks notice! WTF! And they said the opt out contract was IR35 friendly! Four weeks' notice is like a permy. Thankfully I could give 1 week notice and walk away.
Won't be using them again in a hurry. I could have pushed them more to provide me an IR35 friendly Opt In contract but I doubt they would have budged, everything in the contract was nailed down to be basically in favour of the agent. Lesson learnt here I feel.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

TAX
An agent told me that not opting out would mean I am indicating I wish to be treated as an employee and therefor would be required to pay a higher rate of TAX. How can this be true?Comment

Which may not get you the contract, but you would be legally correct.
Who is the agency telling you this?"I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."
