It should just be <pedant>Your correction goes here</pedant>.

<pedant>And one of those would give some kind of error indicating that the "off" attribute has no value. You can't have whitespace in an element name.</pedant>

          How about: <pedant rant="Blah, Blah, Blah" />

That way, you save a pedant and gain a rant.

Is someone keeping track of this before our W3C submission?

I suggest you add a few hours on your timesheet each week since you're clearly working for naïve suckers.

Why? What makes you think we're all thieves?

            Have a read of these:

Code of Conduct | Code of Conduct and Good Practice | About membership | Membership and Networking | BCS - The Chartered Institute for IT

Code of Conduct for Members « Institution of Analysts and Programmers

IEEE - IEEE Code of Ethics

They are called "professional standards". If you have a go at sticking to those, you'll find life less stressful in future.

It will also prevent you giving contractors a bad name: we get criticised for being paid too much so being caught stealing from the client makes it look even worse. While people expect the cleaners and night shift security to steal little items because they are poorly paid, we like to be thought of as professional business people who are above such behaviour.

Edit: Don't expect to get a contract extension, and if your permie colleagues find out, expect people to start making comments behind your back.

My client had the cheek to get miffed when I used their post-room every week to ship the 1/4 tonne of lead I'd been nicking off local church roofs to my fence in the mainland.

              Tight bastids.

You're not on your own, anyway. Presumably the person who -ve repped me with "Tosh" thinks it is OK to get caught stealing from ClientCo.

It's appears it is not acceptable to help yourself to lots of stationary and packs of A4 for home use as or use the work laser printers to print out 200 copies of War and Peace for your mates.
It also appears that you are not allowed to take crates of soft drinks home from the free drinks dispenser, or help yourself to a few boxes of tea bags and a jar of coffee
In addition, putting taxi expenses on your bill for popping down to McDonalds also appears to be unacceptable
And finally, popping the bosses wife over the desk and taking her from behind in front of the whole office party is also frowned upon.

Anyway the bossman took it in good humour and all seems to be well.
That's lucky. Imagine what he'd have done if you'd done something really unprofessional like posted details of how you'd hacked through their spreadsheet security on the internet.

RC: Then do as I do and turn "rep" off in your Profile. That way you'll never see it.

And no, it's not OK to get caught stealing from ClientCo. You need to be more stealthy than that.
