    ItsQuickerAntiClockwise,

Have you worked for Accenture before ? Do you really know my skillset ? 400p/d would be pushing it :> ?

I would consider this as a new adventure and I just need some advice/guidance from forum members.

    Thanks

I do apologize. I wasn't aware the concept of doing some basic research was different in the US than here. I humbly beg your forgiveness.

Look at the navigation panel on the right hand side with the title "CUK Navigation". Click on the links and start reading.

Then go to google.co.uk and google the word "PCG" then read their guides.

When you have a question, make a note of it then come back to the forum and above the words "Advanced Search" you can put in words to search this forum. Your question will have been answered before. If the search isn't working then use google.co.uk

Edited to say: If you want to become a contractor in the UK and/or Europe you need to learn to look for information yourself. Once you are onsite you will get very little help from permanent staff so if you don't have the resources to look for information yourself you will get stuck.

He's a northerner. They tend to have a more 'robust' attitude to people and work than the rest of us.

I can see :>. Since you are all more knowledgeable than me when it comes to the EU/UK, I do appreciate your help. I have been going through a lot of sites (jobserve, contractoruk....) and I am just trying to get some input from people that have been there, so I can avoid some pitfalls ! That's all !

Thank you and have all a great day !

Don't worry about them - they just think you'll be one more contractor taking their work.

I don't know about testing - not my area, I'm afraid. The difficulty I think you have is your current situation. Realistically, to have a chance of finding a contract you need to be in the U.K. and out of permie employment so that you are immediately available. I can't see agencies going near you otherwise (although I guess you could get a UK pay as you go SIM card sent to you to give you a UK phone no. to at least appear like you're local if you want to speak to some agents before you come over). Can you take that risk? The reason I mentioned existing contacts is that that might make it easier, in that you can do some groundwork from where you are.

                Good luck

going rates, chance to suceed ? I dont know in your niche.

how to get a contract ? this is how I do it.

Get onto Jobserve (or your favourite job site) at 9 am.
                    get a sheet of a4.
write down the following, for each job you are CERTAIN you can do
location, agency, rate, contact name, contact phone, nature of the work, date , time
tailor your cv(resume) then send it across

one hour later, phone the guy, 'cv in your inbox, blah blah' home in on the rate
move on to the next one

12 am. stop for the day and get pissed. this is you holiday period. you may as well enjoy your holidays

keep this going, day in, day out. I normally have about ten sheets with four jobs on each side before I land a contract. thats 1 in 80

make a note of EVERYTHING the bastids tell you, vis a vis rates.

oh and change your login. its too close to numb nuts. there are some very silly people on this site who take the micky out of you.
                    numbnuts

                    good luck

Mmm. What the poster above said. But use some RSS feeds and have the jobs sent to your phone.

That way you're not stuck in all day.
