New to the forum and really need your assistance !

    Good morning to all,

I am new to this forum and I am planning to make a move to the old continent, particularly in Uk. I have US and EU citizenhips. I have 10 years of Testing experience (technical and managerial levels) for "major" consulting firms (KPMG, Accenture...). My clients ranged from private companies (State Farm Insurance, Publix Supermarkets...) to the public sector (City of Miami, FL), US. Department of Treasury.....). My questions are:

    - Should I setup my own company or work under an umbrella in the UK ?

    - How do I find contracts ?

    - What are the going rates for a Testing manager/Lead ?

    - How are my chances to succeed in the UK market ?

Any insights or answers to the above questions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you in advance !

    Ndumbane.

To answer all your questions -

Look at the navigation panel on the right hand side with the title "CUK Navigation". Click on the links and start reading.

Then go to google.co.uk and google the word "PCG" then read their guides.

When you have a question, make a note of it then come back to the forum and above the words "Advanced Search" you can put in words to search this forum. Your question will have been answered before. If the search isn't working then use google.co.uk

Edited to say: If you want to become a contractor in the UK and/or Europe you need to learn to look for information yourself. Once you are onsite you will get very little help from permanent staff so if you don't have the resources to look for information yourself you will get stuck.

Assuming you left a good impression on Accenture / KPMG, have you tapped your contacts there for any leads in the UK?

          Thanks

I am still with Accenture. I am just trying to go Solo. Are the rates (400 pds/day....) realistic ?

          Thanks

I take it you did not read the advice already given to you? I will remind you...

Asking endless lazy questions will get you flamed and you will get no help when you really need it. If you are embarking on a career working for yourself you need to be able to stand on your own two feet. If you can't I would say stay permie.

Sorry, I was just trolling. You made me feel bad now! Anyways I think 400p/d for your skillset might be pushing it, but you never know. Accenture always pay stupid money.
