DA reviewed it a couple of weeks back and said it was a strong CV...however hasn't landed me a contract yet. No one is going to do anything for free and I just want to give it a go but am slightly astonished by how much some charge!

I've applied for another role this morning...this time I wrote a brief cover letter rather then just tailoring the CV!

Had another role knocked off the perch but having read the JD again - it wasn't the best of matches and atleast the agency had the decency to comeback and say I haven't been shortlisted.

One other agent really is taking the P - called me yesterday late afternoon saying he would send the job spec for a TecH Arch/SBA role. Nothing arrived... called him back this morning and said he was "busy" but will do it and still nothing... grrr... role doesn't exist (I presume) On with the hunt...

You big gay bear Tony. Think like a contractor.

Be selective about the roles you go for and tailor your CV.

Scatter gun approaches and multiple applications are for the lazy.

I'll answe this properly when I come back.
I would go into detail about why you're wrong but I'll just give you the facts:
                I apply lots
                I get calls back
                I get interviews
I get decent rates for the sector I'm in
I've not been on the bench for any longer than a month
I don't have to chase up agents by phone, they call me

I do support/migration, it doesn't pay well these days but I don't want much! I'm trying to diversify but it's hard to get the experience.

I started a 3 month migration gig in January only to have the whole thing stopped with an indefinite restart date, just bad luck I guess.

At least I'm getting phone calls and interviews, like a previous poster said it's a numbers game so only a mater of time.

Well, had the technical test and interview today, told me I was the last candidate to be interviewed (dont know whether to draw any conclusion from that!).

Client looking to make a decision for tomorrow (Thursday) so got to wait for agent's call now. They wanted me to phone them as soon as I came out of the interview but **** that. Switched the mobi off as Im not discussing the interview on a crowded train.

When I got home, missus said agent had been on the phone 3 times. Must be desparate, eh?
