Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Don't think that's what I said! I'd guess Aussies still need a similar (?) visa to work in the UK.
It depends on whether they qualify for an ancestry visa by having a British parent or grandparent, which many do.
The UK welcomes these people back without any restrictions. Afterall, it's not their fault that their parents decided to move to some hellhole on the other side of the world.
EDIT: Just checked, the ancestry visa is only available to commonwealth citizens with British ancestry and holders can't claim any benefits but can live and work in the UK with no restrictions.
Had a second interview on Friday morning @ 8am, and have just heard I got the gig, which is cool :-) I had to take a hit on the day rate, but considering location i.e not in London, then fair play. Ive gone for the quality of life angle, over the out and out top ££££ position.
Hoping the position will give me some good involvement with SUSE and AIX, so will hoover up as much knowlegde as I can get :-)
Start in 2 weeks.
Best of luck for the other guys on the bench, hope you all get something.
