Surely India can ship out 30 000 agents willing to work for 3% margin and we can send our barrow boys off to a mumbai support centre or some such.
In my experience that would be an absolute joy for us I.T contractors. I've dealt with Indian businessmen quite a bit in the past 2 years and their commitment, communication skills and ability is superior to most agents I've dealt with in the U.K.
The BNP comment is shocking to me. I think many of these angry "Brits born and bred" need to realise if you want capitalism like we have it, and globalisation, then you have to compete globally. I'm not a fan of the UK system, but I picked up my suitcase and went off to other countries myself - sitting in Britian whinging about how people are stealing your jobs, is just tosh in todays world. The jobs are global, as are the staff - deal with it.
(just for clarity I am a white british citizen born and bred, for any BNP'ers on here)
no I'm not especially left wing. I dont really fit with any UK political group tho at the moment - I'm more inclined to traditional labour views, in that I think Governments have too little power nowadays - as they are all driven by GDP rather than standard of living for their populace.
But I'm not derailing any further. Just wanted to say, global business == global staffing, get used to it or lose out to it.

WTF
How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror.

Think you've just contradicted yourself there....given that capital will always flow to the lowest unit cost of labour, & governments erect tariffs and barriers to protect the local population from the effects of this. How can you promote a system where those tariffs and barriers are circumvented by companies using the ICT route?
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think
what I mean mr huge WTF - is that they have too little power as far as governing their countries go, because multinationals can dictate terms if GDP comes first.
E.G if you want to put in rights for employees , then you have to accept that the big multinationals will just move to another country.
Nissan actually did this in reverse TO the UK for manufacture of a certain type of car, as limitations were put on them for employment rights. If it goes to Sunderland UK, then the government doesnt care about employment rights, just the fact that it will generate employment and raise GDP.
