It's a repost. But frankly the first thread on this degenerated into some bollocks about the opium trade. The OP's schoolboy mistake was to post a highly relevant and important story about IT contracting on the UK's main IT contracting site.

The trouble is no-one has sympathy for IT workers whether its permanent or contractors as they see them as an expensive overhead that could do with being cheaper anyway.

The competition keeps market rates artificially low across the board with everyone winning except the poor sods that actually do the work.

      Globalisation... brilliant eh?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Typical of this government to make up all these new laws and only enforce the easy ones like fining otherwise law-abiding safe drivers for going 5 mph over the limit.

oh dear, do you really think that this sort self pitying argument earns you any respect or sympathy?
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

Surely India can ship out 30 000 agents willing to work for 3% margin and we can send our barrow boys off to a mumbai support centre or some such.

I don't want or expect sympathy from an agent or anyone else who isn't a contractor, but since this site is for the benefit of contractors who want to make a decent living (why else would you do it?) my point is valid.

The fact remains that laws are being ignored to our detriment.

The BNP website is also running it...

From their comments section .... sound familiar - anyone want to own up?

I have first hand experience of this, as a highly qualified web developer I'm now finding work extremely hard to come by and I'm really sick of it, there are Indian workers everywhere and as normal they are working for a fraction of the going rate. I can't even begin to tell you just how much I'd like to thump Woolas and all the other left wing filth infesting this country. I've spent years of my life studying for nothing and even though I’m only 38 I feel like I’m on the scrapheap thanks to anti-British anti-White Labour. I hope one day I’ll have my revenge on the filth infesting Westminster regardless of how long it takes; I have an extremely long memory and boy am I angry!!!

I should also point out that this system was created to be exploited, it was just another way dreamt up by Labour to get as many people in as quickly as possible and to destroy Britain.
How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

I'm not a web developer but I am 38, I can't find fault with what he's saying, especially the bit about thumping Woolas.

That doesn't make me a BNP supporter BTW.
