I've found Monster also works surprisingly well, although I get more Euro stuff from that.

Please let me know...
1. You need a mission statement. Who are you? What is your ambition?
2. Put your name as Header 1 font i.e John Bloggs
3. Concentrate on the last three roles for the job details and then condense the rest of the experience to one liners, you can always expand on it in an interview
4. Achievements are good, so make is sub header (Header 2)
5. Skills Matrix is good as well. Only include the skills that you want to be doing or currently using. Do not include old skills that you do not want to use and transition on from. For Me I did Fortran 77 way way back in the first 3 months of my first ever IT job, I would never write that on my CV now.
6. Try a professional CV writing agency. Probably worth the bucks for an independent person.
Best.Comment

When I clicked it the first thing that came up was an ad for "see my nude vid" and it is not instantly obvious how to click to your CV.
Agents and clients alike are going to think you are taking the piss. I did.
Put your CV on Jobserve, My Jobsite and Planet recruit. Link to that. You will get a lot of SPAM from agents fishing but you will get traffic looking for you.
Nope...not really...That link is just for you guys to check CV.
thanks for the feedback...Comment

I was having a mission statement, but once I started looking for different roles, I removed it. I do have 4 different CVs with different emphasis in each . also I think that mission statement may matter more for permies...Mission for a contractor always is complete what ever agreed to do in the contract...
Thanks again..Comment

I think you've got the essentials there already, the skills matrix, the acheivements, the contract history etc which is all good, but man alive, it is way too beefy.
1500 words I think is quite alot, (to compare, mine is just over 1000) but what's worse is there is nothing to break it up, or to attract the eye as you scan over it... it's just block after block of text and bullet points. You do have document structure there (e.g. headings and numbered lists etc) but as someone else pointed out already, there is no white space to quickly identify where one section ends and another begins.
My initial suggestions:
1) Put your CV on a beef free diet. This doesn't mean delete half the content, just try to consolidate some of the details - for example, instead of having:
• Point of contact for all OSS BSS project test deliverables covering 15 systems/applications
• Day to day management of OSS BSS test teams consists of more than 20 testers
• Efficiently managed OSS test (Slough), BSS test (Leeds) & managed service teams
You could write something like:
• Managed 15 application deliverables, 20 testers and 2 test centres
2) Create some white space between your titles / sections now that you have freed up some space
3) Identify which key words or phrases you want to stick out on a quick glance over the document and put them in bold, or in red, or use some other way of them standing out. E.g. :
• 10 Years of IT experience, including 8 years in software testing & test management
...
...
AXIOSS Suite (O2S & IMS), Netcool/CIC, Cramer, Digital Fuel Service Flow, Service View, BMC Remedy (ARS), IBM Proviso, Mycom PrOptima, MagNet, MARSS, Omnix, Business Objects, MapInfo, WebMap, Amdocs CRM, Nexus METER/PPR, CPI, Torex Retail, Good Mail

your problem is that you are "two a penny", apart from your telecomms experience. That's not to say that you couldn't do a good job, there are just a 100 other testers who have the same skill set as you and present themselves a little bit better.
you just don't stand out from the hundreds of testers who apply for every contract job going.
e.g. you apply to a test manager/test lead role for a financial services client, so do 85 others - what makes your application stand out against the others?
IMO network around the telecomms industry where you are marketable and stop torturing yourselfComment

Re read your CV and then answer your key accomplishments with SO WHAT then re read your CV and ask yourself does this CV clearly explain how I can help a potential client fix their particular problem.
Chin up, yes its tulip not getting phone calls, but look at the advice you've been given. You have plenty to work on and with now. Get back on the horse and grind it out like the rest of us.Comment
