You're just in the same predicament with contract negotiations, though.

Just seemed strange that you both answer the same questions, and thought you might have forgotten to log out and back in.

    Of course, since we're Spartacus...

My new rate and extension has been approved.

I was really looking forward to some time off too. Sleep when I'm dead.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

        Well done.

Sleep at work, and invoice for it.

Congrats - This is a good thread for all you newbies out there.

You need to know your BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement).

You need to know when you will walk away before you start negotiating - your confidence in this during the negs will often work in your favour, but you have alternatives if they don't.

Basically you need to know what you're worth...

              Phew.

They met my rate rise. Got the bottom-line-or-I'd-walk figure. Think I probably should have gone for a higher rate - but hey, I'm happy with this, and it saves me having to faff around finding another contract for another 6 months.

Well done RH - sometimes it pays to just go for it all balls in. At least now you will feel more valued and happy with the rate.

Well done mate - they obviously think a lot of you, and rightly so.
