    Good luck RH...

Is it a time critical project ? Or can they afford to waste 3 months training ?

Sounds like you need to start looking around. It always helps your bargaining position if you have something else to go to.

      Best of luck with it.

(Of course, if it doesn't pan out, there's always the "Am I going the right way?" thread to revive)

Is your agent aware of your plan? They can often provide useful insights.

I told my agent what I was after; he didn't sound very hopeful. I have a horrible feeling he won't bother asking.

Cheers - nope not especially time critical - more that I'm currently the only developer with the knowledge of some key systems for contingency and BAU, so it's a moderate risk for them.

Yep they're in the loop and I've made my price & position known - I made it very clear to the agent that I'd walk. I like the agency though (shudder), they've been very straightforward and one of the most honest/transparent & helpful I've dealt with, so said I'd welcome similar positions at my target rate through them.

Yep already doing that - though I haven't updated my cv (sorry, brochure ) for some time (lax of me) and I hate doing it - a mental block I have to overcome. Mind - I've got shedloads of enterprise & large-scale project experience now, so it's looking a hell of a lot better than a few years ago - my main problem is to get it down to a couple of pages.

I promise I'll revive that thread soon - like I said, if anyone feels like starting their own or continuing mine then they're welcome!

Awaiting the second meeting with a lot at stake - don't really want to be looking around right now, but said I'd be prepared to walk.

So - 10 toothtrimmed fingernails later, still waiting on The Man.

Not being greedy, but at the end of the day I have to respect myself and I wouldn't be happy with less, given the extra effort I'm putting in.

This thread is for those who are 'nervously awaiting' feedback on contracts, rates and the like.

So I've taken the view of setting the price and letting them decide.

No-one can compare to you - it might even tempt Richard-af and Old Greg back.

With all due respect to VM - I would never drive one of those.

Well, it was enjoyable but v time-intensive/demanding, and the storyline was getting a little complex as it became less restricted by classic MUD rules - I may wipe the slate clean and start again - or go to 'instant death' mode on the existing thread.

And I could never hack reality.
