Also - get your client to cancel their contract with Veritas immediately and move it elsewhere. Your client will have to pay Veritas for your work up until the point that they move your contract, irrespective of whether you will see that money or not. The quicker they move it the quicker you will be able to start invoicing elsewhere.

I do so feel for you.

It has to be asked (rhetorically): How the f--k can these firms end up in bother? They do so little for such a lot.

Cr*p, poor you. Hope you get it sorted and that they do manage to pay you.

Find out who the administrators are and give them a call to see if they will still be trading, if they are you may get paid - probably not by the agreed payment terms but you may get something.

In the cases I have been involved in then the problem has not been with the business model but rather with the fact that the money was being spent on extra-curricular activities.

I guess I should tell the client - or should I not? I think I should seek legal advice from PCG first...

My advice would be to mention informally to the client that you have had problems getting paid and have heard that their supplier (Veritas) is in administration - let them go off and do their investigation and meanwhile you give PCG a call. No harm in mentioning to the client - you need to gear them up to sorting their side of things out.

Does anyone have any mobile numbers for any of the recruitment consultants? They usually have the inside track on what is happening!

I am owed quite a substantial amount of money. I didnt have my contacts new mobile number so any other consultant will do!

                    Fair enough.

They're definitely in administration. The receptionist confirmed it to me over the phone (eventually) this morning.

There are perhaps a dozen of us here at my current client who are owed money by Veritas. Personally I'm down about £7k but some others are owed substantially more. The client ended the relationship with Veritas back in July (don't know why) and a few of us still had a fair bit of time left on the contract. The majority of invoices raised in that time haven't been paid.

We're all in Milton Keynes so we were going to pay them a visit this lunchtime but canceled the plan when we found out that the administrators had been called in. It was probably a bad plan anyway.

Is this the right room for an argument?
