IR35 - close your eyes and make it disappear

Seriously though, what if you've been contracting out of IR35 happily for a few years and then the IR come after you with the IR35 whip? And you're not insured?

What course of action would you take?

Bankruptcy / leave the country before the investigation gains momentum / pay up (lose your house doing it) / top yourself / gun rampage at the IR?

Ask yourself - what would Jesus do?

Jesus would find a man possessed by demons, drive the demons into the swine from the HMRC and watch them run off a cliff. Problem solved.

I reckon Jesus would have a big problem claiming to be a contractor whilst he had 12 'employees' on the books. Wasn't one of he disciples a tax inspector? Surely he would have given Big J some advice.

Worse - he told them to become 'Fishers of Men'. Sounds like agents to me.

Jesus was clearly an employee (of God), using PAYE

He was a Contractor (which is what agents are). They were Sub-contractors (which is what we are).

Peter should of course have had a CIS card.

He was a shareholder actually (father, son and HG were one of the same) and probably took salary and tax free divis. That's what the tax inspector was there for to give the 'official view' on what was acceptable.

When Jesus prayed to his heavenly father, was his father acting as an MSC (My Son Christ) because he benefitted on an ongoing basis from bestowing special powers on his son to heal and teach?
