    Abraxas getting it right.

Just for a change I've got something nice to say about an agency.

Got my extension paperwork through and Abraxas are now using PCG approved contracts complete with PCG logo.

    Nice

i must say i am with Abraxas and they are very "smooth" to deal with.

i email them the scanned/signed timesheets by wednesday..i get the money 2-3 days later....i think they have a good understanding with the end client so it all works out well.

but i want to know about PGC? what is PGC?

PCG = Professional Contractors Group - kind of a union type of thing I suppose.

            PCG mate PCG.
            Professional Contractors Group.

I was with Abraxas for ages and found them to be amongst the best - Nice to see they are using approved contracts. Shame the others cannot follow suit.
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

              I preferred version 1!

Hays are crooks. They are only interested in their margins nothing else. They were taking 37% markup on my contract and I got rid of them.

ZoppZ, with Hays it just depends who you are dealing with. They're the preferred supplier for one of my clients, I reckon I've dealt with about half a dozen of them. They range from criminally incompetant to very good. I always thought I was being stung on the markup until one of the more stupid ones copied me in on some documentation they shouldn't have. The markup was less than 10%! So it just depends...

I must say, Abraxas have always been pretty good even when they call you about a possible gig (ie they dont fish for info). In recent years I have worked through them and I always found them responsive to emails and fast with payment. My current agency Smartsourcing in Newcastle are also pretty high in the ranks - they even email confirmation of payment and call me now and again to see if everything is ok - which is nice
