All this slobbery kissy kissy touchy feely nonsense about Abraxas makes me want to puke. "Treat em mean keep em keen" is how to deal with contractors .
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone
BOBJ - were they the preferred supplier for the same client that was making them less than 10% markup? I know of such an arrangement where they get a fixed daily amount (peanuts in this case) per contractor regardless of the actual contractors rate. My point is that I'm sure they'd take advantage of you if they weren't restrained by their preferred supplier agreement. Probably.

ZoppZ, with Hays it just depends who you are dealing with. They're the preferred supplier for one of my clients, I reckon I've dealt with about half a dozen of them. They range from criminally incompetant to very good. I always thought I was being stung on the markup until one of the more stupid ones copied me in on some documentation they shouldn't have. The markup was less than 10%! So it just depends...
You could have something there. Across the client they have hundreds of contractors. Looking at the documentation I received that I shouldnt have I can't tell. I'll ask next time I deal with them...
