Job mails from iPlaceUK and Star Jobs

Got a mail out of the blue with a ton of Service Delivery jobs from Star Jobs. Address at the bottom of the mail is 52 Mackenzie Road, Birmingham, England, B11 4EL and says it's powered by Allthetopbananas.com job board software. They were all for Service Delivery perm jobs so just deleted the first and then unsubscribed the second time it came.

Lo and behold a week later I get a mail from iPlaceUK. Exactly same format, same address, same powered by etc. On both there is a line at the bottom saying ' More jobs at TheBIGJobsite.com'

What's going on here? Hard to say where they got my data from as it could have been scraped or sold from similar sites but I certainly didn't set an account up or request emails so got to be illegal spamming no? If I unsubscribe from this one will another pop up? Surely that's wholly wrong? Or can they 'share' my data because it's clearly the same group of companies, just a scummy set up?

Did a bit of digging on that address. There was a company previously registered there called HelpMeRecruit dissolved in 2019 run by Syed Ahmed Salman Mansoor HUSSAIN

IPlace has a company here https://find-and-update.company-info...mpany/12223237 with Syed as a director many similar names as Star Jobs and originally started at that address
Star Jobs is the same https://find-and-update.company-info...mpany/12432712 again with Syed and same names as IPlace

There is also a website called TalentExperts.uk which charges for searches which I thought was illegal but appears to have a team of 8 people working for it but on the about page it shows Syed as a Sole Trader.

So it's all just smoke and mirrors with one scummy guy illegally using some data he has to farm people in order to get kickbacks if he matches with any open gigs advertised elsewhere?

Could it be be that TheBigJobSite has some affiliate scheme where it shares data and lets people go do the selling on their behalf?

I got this idea from someone I worked with years ago...

Set up your own catch all email domain - I set one up at 123reg, but plenty other ways to do it. Any email to *@mydomain.com will be forwarded to my gmail. Then when I give out my email to say topbanana.com, I give my address as topbanana@mydomain.com. Then when I later get a spam, it will be to topbanana@mydomain.com. I know who spammed me, and if they fail to respond to unsubscribe requests, then I can just block that particular address.

Actually, a small catch with 123reg. Their old system would forward everything. Their new system has spam filtering, which even when you set it to off, still filters some things out and fails to forward them. So now and again I have to actually log in to their horrible webmail thing and check the spam folder. Bloddy annoying, so another catchall email provider might be a better choice.

Ah, what I missed on both those sites is that there is a subscription fee to do searchers. 3 search credits a day for 300 quid . So looking at the email again, all the jobs look completely fake, which take you to their site which puts up the charge to go further, you pay and they are completely fake.

So a complete an utter scam. Scummy little bastard.

        Just putting this here.

IplaceUK at Iplaceuk.com is a scam. Do not use.

StarJobsUK at Starjobsuk.com is a scam. Do not use

I tend to delete job emails that don't come from places I've legitimately signed up to. If there's something particularly tempting, I might have a look around to see if it's advertised anywhere else.

I have a separate mailbox for generic stuff and only agents I'm talking to get my actual email address.

Have something similar on a regular basis, mostly after I updated my CV on total jobs or another place.

Exactly what I do with my primary business and personal domains. It's interesting to see who sells your data on - when you start getting emails to the address you gave one company from another. Like debenhams@mydomain.com - Debenhams were bad for it.
