    Finding a contract in France?

Has anyone here had experience contracting in France? Where are international contract roles typically advertised and how has it compared to UK contracting?

Currently contracting in the UK but hold a French passport and speak the language, it has always been an aim to move there at some point. It would be good to hear from others who have managed to do this.

You will do well to find a contract in France. Historically there has always been very few contracts there.

Mostly taxed at source. There are agencies who rule the roost so you need to get in with one of them.
I've worked with a few French contractors and they've been pretty switched on.

Do you have any of the agency names?

I'd be very surprised if Adecco wasn't in there somewhere.

I made a linkedin account for France and set my location to Toulouse, got loads of recruiters hitting me up even though I can't speak French yet. Probably all perm roles, but it'd be a starting point.

I want to move there eventually, but unless you speak French you have zero chance. Whereas Belgium often has roles, including contract, that will take English speaking people.

I've done multiple spells working in France and Belgium. In my experience (admittedly a long time ago), it's a significant disadvantage if you're not fluent in French when working in France whereas in Belgium it was much easier to get away without being fluent and English was more widely spoken too.
