The thought of leaving a gig for something they don't understand is unthinkable.

They'll just stick their head back in the sand and carry on inside where they should have been all along.
They'll argue that they've not been investigated in the 10+ years that they've been self-declaring as outside and deem the risk minimal.

while crying about how unfair it is that they now have to pay tax.

Indeed. If they are showing complete disregard about what they are doing up to now then nothing is gonna change, particularly when the best option is to take voluntary bench time.

Does tick me off slightly when one of this lot falls lucky and their client gives them an outside determination. They should be inside BAU drones and leave the outside ones to the people that gave a damn.

yeah let those people be inside.

Less supply of proper contractors around is a good thing

But we are gonna have to deal with the endless threas about taking MVL and now they've been offered an outside gig and didn't think it through. I'll clear my infractions list so I'm ready.

Just accept the inside contract whatever max rate they give, and quickly close the LTD company down - takes only 6 months.
