    Brave New World

I am working with a 'disruptor' at the moment around building back office (financial) products for PSC and Umbrella workers Post April. As we know the landscape will change, I am keen to know what else other than what is currently offered by the usual suspects would be a differentiator.

The two things that seem to influence workers choices right now are price and service, but are the incumbents missing a trick right now by not bringing in other services? Think group discounts, lead passing mechanism or community forum.

I guess if you were building something from scrath to basically attract yourselves, what would it be?

Do we get expenses paid for helping your requirements gathering and user research for you or anything?

Should this not go in General or Technical?

It's not clear to me what you're actually hoping to sell to PSCs today that is missing from the marketplace. It sounds like you want to sell something, don't know what, so are asking people what they would be prepared to buy.

We've had a number of people talking about setting up communities, lead generation groups, subcontractor introductions etc, but nothing has ever materialised (to my knowledge).

There was one thing someone was going to set up last year that was going to save contractors from all the evil umbrellas in the world but that seems to have died a quiet death. Perhaps see if there is anything there? Again, it wasn't clear what the actual service was or who was expected to pay for it.

I seem to remember someone else mentioning this to me in one of the many conversations I've had over the past few months.

Except for a very cheap car deal (which would require an umbrella's involvement and is too good to go into detail on here) none of it looked that interesting.

                  Perkbox?

It keeps many people going back to IPSE every year...

I think most umbrella companies offer one of those schemes (it's not that expensive to add).
