Isn't there a risk of being sued for not completing the contract? (esp. by agencies)

I'm a bit new to this, so sorry if that's a stupid question.

There is usually a period of notice in the contract, both ways, that the above poster is referring to.

Everyone I work with is now expected to be working on 2, 3 or more projects at once, and you just can’t get an architect to oversee the big picture, which means that everything is designed in silos and rammed together during deployment.

It’s all rather chaotic, and not in a good way.
Oh that's sad, I thought maybe I am imagining it or something, thought maybe its the type of stressful reg projects I am on that are just like this, and was hoping if I change from reg/risk to other areas it would be better, I used to really like my job, 5 years ago the thought of giving it up, now all I dream about is early retirement and how I can achieve it lol

Correct. Only twice I had to do that. Issued the notice period and didn't bother to turn up during that period because I was "ill"

But can’t beat one contractor who told me he was unhappy, found another contract and just didn’t come back. No phone call, no email, nothing. He’d been there a good few months as well.

I'd drop the pro from your handle.

I wouldn't. A pro evaluates risks of not being paid for the notice period and he/she doesn't work free of charge.

                      We aren't arguing that bit.
