Leaving contract big problem

You mean your client? You have no contractual relationship with your client. Your contract, ergo your notice, is between you and the agency.

I'd say you owe GhostOfTarbera a beer there. He's saved you a huge amount of embarrassment, well some anyway...

It takes a lot more than handing in a notice to the wrong person to embarrass me haha! It's only my 2nd contract i don't expect myself to know all these sorts of things there are that many different people and companies involved in this one i hadn't a clue who i was actually working for haha.

So a bit of an update regarding the situation, today was the day i went into the job and wanted to speak to the manager regarding the whole situation and telling him that i didn't think the position was right for me for a number of reasons, the long shift hours and days/nights would've been to stressful to handle in the end. Surprisingly the boss was actually really nice and said that it was fine and he appreciated me telling him now instead of down the line and that he was happy to call it quits on the same day with no need for a notice period.
So after all of that i went back and emailed the agent and explained what got said and what happened and he came back to me and said that he needs to provide me with a doctors note to end the contract.
Do i actually need to give him one or is it just more bullying and intimidation from him because i didn't go through with the contract in the end?

Do you have to give him one - Yes indeed a common contract breaker

Doctors do this all the time, sometimes they charge a small fee

Ask the doctor for a ‘STD’ - short for standard termination document, but everyone calls it ‘STD’ it will only take a few minutes

All this after you were told that you have no contractual obligation to the client (and for christ sake stop calling him the boss).
I'm not surprised he let you go immediately. You sign a contract and before you started you are whining about the commute and the stress. He'll be glad to see the back of you. You could have been honest with him.

He thinks you are daft noob and they are having bets in the office about how long they can yank your chain for.

But yes you need a doctors note.

They are your client, your relationship is with your agent etc. These are little changes in thinking that will make a big difference when dealing with issues going forward.

Your relationship should be with the client as well - I've had repeat business, direct, with higher rates as a result.
