Hopefully that's that done now.

Anyway, i couldn't get an appointment today at the doctors office (GP surgeries these days are very busy for a number of reasons we can all guess why i think) but i hope to get one tomorrow, meanwhile after me telling the relentless agent that i would forward him the note after i got one, he then emails me again at the end of today telling me that i need to send it and i haven't sent it over yet therefore i should be there at the job even though i had the discussion with the client (boss ) yesterday and he was fine with us leaving it there and then and the agent knowing that.

Hopefully i'll get an appointment tomorrow and get the guy off my case, the way he words some of his emails are borderline threatening to be honest.
I once got an ‘STD’ from a receptionist at a doctors surgery, I then gave it to a few other people

Make sure you get copies !!!

I'd say a CUK classic. Hopefully OP will keep us posted on his surgery adventures.

Doctors do this all the time, sometimes they charge a small fee

Ask the doctor for a ‘STD’ - short for standard termination document, but everyone calls it ‘STD’ it will only take a few minutes
The terminology has changed, not sure why but they are now called standard termination initiator, or STI

            Just offer a sub.

I don't know why the agent is insisting on a sick note. Doesn't MOO play a part here?

He's more than likely doing it to be very difficult because he didn't get his cut out of it and is getting more bitter and annoyed each day thinking about it.

I'm not familiar with MOO though at the moment, can you fill me in?

Actually it's more about accepting more work.

But I would just ignore him. Move on with your life. Client knows you aren't going to be working the contract and the agent knows the same.

STDs, if ignored, can result in termination in extreme cases.

Update (it never ends), so yesterday i went the doctors and got a doctors note for 3 weeks and they said they will extend it once it finishes, i then send the guy an email with the note in an attachment (picture) and didn't hear anything for a day. Today i get an email from him saying that he has agreed with the client for me to serve my notice, i cannot work until the notice expires for anyone else and that i may need to update the doctors note for it to cover the full time period and that i wont be owed any money for this time (obviously i'm aware of that part, i didn't expect them to pay me but this leads me into what i saying at the end of this post)
Shame profanity is frowned upon in this forum otherwise i'd have a few useful words to describe this piece of work to be honest. Firstly the obvious one, how would the guy even know if i start working again with another agency and for another umbrella company? It feels like he is saying that i cant earn a living anywhere for the next month at least.

Yup. That's quite normal. I'd also point out if you are signed off and are too sick to work for them you are going to open yourself to legal issues if you are found to be working elsewhere. You've lied to your doctor and the old agent so an open and shut case of misrepresentation.
