Bin them off then. No point having a trade deal if taxes are leaving on a jet plane.

It won't. That work will follow those low paid foreign IT workers who have now gone back to their home countries of Poland, India etc.
Short term it will remove the cheap option from the menu so to speak ensuring more IT work for UK IT workers. Outsourcing & offshoring nearly always ends in tears & comes back eventually as once a company outsources the outsourcer starts to put their prices up gradually to take advantage of the disruption & business risk it would cause to onshore again. US & Australia protect their well paid IT jobs UK needs to start doing the same & fast!

And yet the work continues to be given to be given to those lower-cost, lesser skilled workers, right? Else we wouldn't even be having this conversation!

Yes, for reasons we've already discussed. New boss wants to improve profits to hit his bonus. He doesn't care about long term ability to deliver; he'll get his bonus and be gone. Short term, he cuts costs by downsizing the UK operation. Next guy then has the task of getting the business up and running again. Brings teams back here. Costs sometimes rise but more importantly, the UK footprint rises, so the immediate costs are visible. New CEO comes in, cuts costs, etc. It's cyclical depending on whether you're in a delivery or cost-cutting phase.

              Thank you.

Which part of finding a gig are you struggling with at the moment? How to find an open position? Getting replies to applications? Making it past the first phone interview? Something completely different?

Most forums, including CUK, do not pay trolls, no matter how experienced they are.

Gets fine past the first phone interview however the F2F interviews don't go so well.

Do you think its the wrong dress code for the interviews that is the problem, please see recent photo below:-
