Do they waive the requirement and just make it a neccessity for uk based contractors?
Have you actually asked them whether they have SC?

Also you don't have to be in the UK fully for 5 years to get it. It's just if you are a contractor it's easier for them to move on rather than deal with your particular case. If you are permie they will deal with your individual circumstances.

No, I just assumed they were since they were in the same role as myself and I needed it.

I will ask the agent when I see her for drinks next week.

You can do defence etc work without it but do need to be cleared to basic level. You are just not allowed to see any real data/information.

I needed SC to get a domain admin accoint to deploy stuff to the uat servers. The bobs did the same so I assume they had sc too.

If the bobs are via a consultancy, isn't that the same as consultants via Accenture where the onus is on the consultancy? That said, I'd love to see some sort of FOI request for this

Recruiter that advertise roles and never ever get anything back

I have applied to many job ads in the London market, because it is close to home.
I see several adverts from certain agency and I do have the qualification or the experience of working in the requirement, but I never hear back or receive an email response.

Has any one had an response from Oliver Bernard?

                it depends.
I've worked on a site where consultancy A weren't required to have SC under a new contract (they did previously). Consultancy B did require it.

Consultancy A had root access to everything on Unix, and Domain Admin.
Consultancy B had access to just one application.
Some goon had decided that sys admins didn't access data so they could save on their fees by not requiring SC.

Yeah they have rung me up in the past with their two references tulip. Needless to say the conversation was aborted.
