Maybe, as you say, since they didn't see any live data, they waived the requirement for them.

Oh, and the quality was diabolical. I spent my whole time there clearing up other people's mess. Nobody would ever take ownership of anything. They'd say a task was complete but it never was and then they'd move on to the next task leaving me to pick up the pieces.

I think it's the only place where I got so frustrated that I would openly point the finger at people in stand ups but they just used to do their comedy wobbly head routine and suddenly lose the capability to understand simple English.

And don't even get me started on the quality of their javascript.....
More fool you for not raising it. Nobody will think anything is wrong and you'll eventually get dumped because there's nothing wrong with the bobs and you're costing more.

I did raise it numerous times.

There were Indians higher up in the hierarchy in this one and the feeling I got from the home grown management was that they didn't want to rock the boat.

I turned down their offer of an extension and walked.

I had an interview with one of the major consultancies for an SC role last week (got through the interview then they decided to fill the role internally, on the off chance you are interested) and one of the first questions they ask is if you have lived in the country for five years.

You can't tell by people's accents whether they have lived in a country for 5 straight years.

If I spent a year working in the US I would still have a British accent because I was born and brought up here, and it is hard for adults to lose their accents.

In hindsight the comedy Russian accent was a mistake.

that question is more about SC clearance. If you've not been UK resident for 5 years they probably don't want to risk the money to sponsor you as you may be less likely to get it.

So how do all the injuns straight off the plane get it?

Do they waive the requirement and just make it a neccessity for uk based contractors?
