    Contracting for a management consultancy

To be sure, don't have anything concrete yet but what is the panel's opinion of contracting for a management consultancy? I read in a previous thread that it's a good way to get into new areas which would be difficult on your own without the experience . Is there anything else to watch out for?

If they treat you as an associate, fine. If they try to embed you as a permie (insisting that you have business cards from the consultancy for example), not fine.

For the same reasons as Cojak mentions they may attempt to move you to other clients or pieces of work where they have a hole or can get more business.

It's a great way of networking with both internal and external clients, which in turn can lead to further opportunities with each.

And you'll have to buy a new tailored pin stripe suit with a good pair of cuff links.
