I have always had weekly payments and I have worked in Finance for a long time.

I know for a fact that the agency that does this is on 90 days payment terms.
There might be exceptional cases, but I am in Finance for the last 4-6 years and my payment terms are 4 weeks. I may have accepted it to get the job or it might be just the norm.

Declaring something as untrue based on personal experience is acceptable, however that is not the industry standards.

There used to be days where there were weekly payments, but these days most of them pay by monthly (i.e. 2 weeks from invoice) which seem to be acceptable.

I never encountered rate cut until I got into finance. But I have gone through them couple of times now. I cannot say that it is a norm in contracting.

I think it depends on the agency and what you negotiate. I don't think I've ever had monthly terms the worst was fortnightly + 2 weeks most have been weekly and 5 days.

The point here being, there are monthly and there are weekly, fortnightly depending on what agents say but not what clients say. Isn't one good reason why we can't have it on our own way?

As contractors, some of us are (exceptional cases are there always) at times in a desperate need to get a job that we accept most of what the agents say?

We may be deviating from the original intention of the post here. There might be weekly payments, fortnightly but in IB none pays by weekly. I agree that the devil is in the details but they are not at the whole purpose of the post.

We can run a poll to find out how many are being paid weekly, fortnightly and monthly. That should give us the fact.

                Total BS as I said.

I've worked in IB 8+ years, every contract paid me weekly.
I have worked for 5 IBs during that time.
I have worked through a number of agencies and direct during that time.

And I've been 4 weeks as long as I can remember and am very happy with it.

No - I was proposing offering the same level of service as a typical recruitment agency, ie contractor is always indirectly related to the client via agency. Clients in the main don't like having to deal with contractors directly.

You might be one of the luckiest to be paid at terms you wanted and not go through mandatory holidays and cuts as we (the cattle) do. Unlike me I do understand you are one of the most wanted contractors.
