My gig ends on 23 Dec, ClientCo is shut from then until New Year so even if there was an extension, I wouldn't be working the Christmas period.
I tend to budget into my rate working 40 weeks a year so things like this aren't a financial surprise.
I have heard that HSBC and DB enforce 40 days/8 weeks "leave" a year and build it into their contracts.
If it's in the contract then fine. I know banks like to do this. My point I was playing Devil's Advocate over was client co telling you, (via the agency) you must take holidays and that it isn't in our t&cs.

I look forward to your all knowing and likely sarcastic and unhelpful reply.

But they aren't telling you you must take holidays. That's permie thinking. It's not a holiday, it's a non billing day. They are changing the contractual terms. If you are that bothered tell you agency to issue a new contract with it in. Pointless but if it makes you more comfortable...and on that I'm done.

Oh hang on..no I'm not. Client is telling you via the agent? So it's the agent that is telling you as its them you have a contract with so no way can it be client D&C.....Now I'm done.
