    Current gig going slow...

This BA here, older chap , nearly retired. 6 people on the project and all of them waiting for his user stories which aren't coming for 3 months already. I started to think that every contractor is trying to prolong the project so they stay on site longer , and management don't care.. In fact the management is sending message that everything is great and carry on the good work. Is it common?

I always had this approach - do stuff as fast as you can and impress the client with speed and quality, but I guess it's not so great for the business?

It is what it is. If management are happy then you are ok.

It means that at the end of the project, who is going to suffer from lack of time will be the development and the test teams, ending in a crap project full of bugs.

Make sure you transmit to the management that the delay will affect the quality of the next stages of the project.

the company politics is so crap that even management can't do anything. It simply takes time. Like "let's see in 3 weeks to discuss this"

Are you for real? Guess who'll be first out the door.

Politics aside, get the analysis right and there will be fewer bugs and more value added to the end product.

I worked for government once. Six months of doing the Times Crossword in the morning, long lunches, and watching the world go by in the afternoon. They didn't want to let us go as they needed security cleared specialists.

Top rate it was as well. Very bad for my liver.

Better than you seem to with other contractors, then
