100%.... working for big names in the UK/ London in the last 5 years or so has been a nightmare !

You can't generalise, my current contract is with a very big name and couldn't be happier! Everyone extremely friendly and work is alright too...

Get your mobile provider to give you a wifi gateway, they'll usually do it for free

Three and I believe O2 are offering WiFi calling as well, works great at home. Not so much in the current ClienCo office where the WiFi internet is filtered and the feature doesn't work (was fine with previous 2 ClientCos)

Have a decent voicemail, if the call is genuine pimps always drop a voicemail + e-mail

The local market in my sector (UX/UI) has been dead for weeks now. Not unexpected, was dead last summer and same thing the previous year.

Usually job ads start to reappear and agents start to get in touch again from mid September. We'll see...I'm curious to see what the effect of brexit and ir35 will have on the market this time.

Fortunately my contract expires in quite a while so, despite not liking where I am, I'll just suck it up and keep invoicing.

Unfortunately that's all they're doing - they've not decided when they'll get round to declining them or not.
