In some places I've worked ending an email with "regards" rather than "kind regards" is the most British way of showing you are hugely annoyed.

It's all very subtle in some environment - others less so.

It's all a learning curve - be annoyed, have a little rant, then get your head down and get another gig and make sure next time the situation pops up you consider your approach.

I hope that's not the case anywhere I've worked. I always end them "thanks, myName" unless I've already thanked them in the body of the email, in which case, its "regards, nyName".

Although the office was also a mixed 'cultural' lot, with one keeping everyone loudly absorbed into her moaning and openly using no go swear words about collaborators all the time, being very direct, constant anger issues and catastrophic meetings, etc Everyone else was very quiet though ( including me actually).

I spend most of my working life dealing with non-native English speakers. Homhom's English is fine. Get over yourself.

It's nothing English that wound me initially for a start. It was just a comment on my opinion of his English which, when I last looked was allowed. I'm not the one carrying it on.
