I will admit houses seem to be a bit cheaper in some parts of wales.

Mine is not small - not huge either but bigger than some. 4 bed detached worth about £250K. About £120K outstanding if I remember correctly....

I got a very good tracker deal a few years ago which I'm sticking with. Even with additional borrowing a few years its only £700/month I think so yes JSA for three months does pay 1+ month of the mortgage.

Last time I did ask the jobcentre people if they fancied giving me £75 a week and paying my mortgage but they said no. Pity.

Just a rant about my current experience with a recruitment agency.

Arranged my interview for a 8 months role, offered the role for 4 months and signed the contract. All done, agreed the joining date of 2nd Nov.

I have given the notice to my current client of two weeks on last Monday.

Today recruitment agency called and informed that client has cancelled the contract, so no joining now. Now what to do...Nothing? I believe.

This situation is unfortunate and rare. If you have been nice to your current client, and you have made them understand the reasons for your attempt to leave, they will likely have you back, at lease for 1 renewal.
