I got a very good tracker deal a few years ago which I'm sticking with. Even with additional borrowing a few years its only £700/month I think so yes JSA for three months does pay 1+ month of the mortgage.
Last time I did ask the jobcentre people if they fancied giving me £75 a week and paying my mortgage but they said no. Pity.

£75 a week = 75*52/12 = £325 a month. Three months on the bench = £975 = Payment towards my expensive holiday.
