Ask one of the unlucky ones what they had wished they had done.

this guy has to be a troll, right?

from "do you really need an accountant" to "my accountant says you don't really need to worry about IR35" (via "you're all morons")

there's a very low chance of winning the lottery but lots of people play it

To the OP : you can only tell the client what terms you are prepared to work on. In your case, if they require a permie that is what they will insist on and there it is. I would tell them I am strictly a contractor and that is cheaper for them anyway, if they are still not interested then there is nothing really anyone can say that will change their mind.

Just because he wants to negotiate using his LTD they will treat him a permie so Just walk away.

You'll be accusing me of being a sockie next.
Not true, I'm afraid NLUK. Consultancies hire both permies and contractors for identical assignments if a lot of work comes in, and those contracts are definitely outside of IR35.

True enough. We just have to try and find out if OPs client is a consultancy or not.

No, we don't. We just have to be clear in our advice that just because they have been asked to take a permie position, it does not indicate that the contract position is suspect.

So your 1st post on this subject was incorrect.

there also seems to be an ongoing assumption that everyone wants outside-IR35 contracts, surely there's a fair percentage of people happy to be on umbrella/inside ir35? Not everyone's on 400++ per day
