Most of my roles seem to come from LinkedIn these days, I've not bother with a recruitment site in a few years.

DaveB - Yes I do that, but I usually remove my CV Friday nights and update Sunday nights, it does work.
On LinkedIn, can anyone share how they search for CONTRACT roles, I usually put the relevant key words including "Contract" as a key word, what I'm asking is, would I be able to search then filter just to display the Contract roles, without having a paid for LinkedIn account?Comment

Can you search for jobs on LinkedIn? I find I update my profile to say available and have to beat agents off with sticks...Originally posted by MasterP0 View PostDaveB - Yes I do that, but I usually remove my CV Friday nights and update Sunday nights, it does work.

I'd be interested if anyone has a good way of seaching for just contracts positions on Linkedin (without going premium). I don't want to update my status with the fact that I'm looking for a contract whilst in contract as I've got contacts from both my agency and from my client on my profile.Comment

Serious question, but why not? Or are you planning on walking half way?Originally posted by spongeym View PostI'd be interested if anyone has a good way of seaching for just contracts positions on Linkedin (without going premium). That's why I always wait with adding contacts form my client towards the end of my contract or when it has finished.Originally posted by spongeym View PostI'd be interested if anyone has a good way of seaching for just contracts positions on Linkedin (without going premium). If you're planning to leave in the middle of your contract that may be a problem, but if it is in the last few weeks it's perfectly ok to say "soon available for new contracts" in your status updatesComment

My reason is that although I've had multiple renewals, they have always been last minute, also the client have also let a lot of contractors go mid contract due to changes in their business or projects being pulled. I want to keep on the front foot and search when I feel there might be a change due, rather than wait until the last minute.Originally posted by vwdan View PostSerious question, but why not? Why don't you just say something like "in contract until *date* "Originally posted by spongeym View PostMy reason is that although I've had multiple renewals, they have always been last minute, also the client have also let a lot of contractors go mid contract due to changes in their business or projects being pulled. This way you don't explicitly say you are looking for new contracts and maybe current client notice that and say "we'd better offer him a renewal before he finds something else"Last edited by MattZani; 9 June 2015, 08:52.Comment

If the client might let you go at any stage (and every client could do that), and you don't want to be caught out, don't you need to be constantly looking and telling people that you are available?Originally posted by spongeym View PostMy reason is that although I've had multiple renewals, they have always been last minute, also the client have also let a lot of contractors go mid contract due to changes in their business or projects being pulled.
