    I will probably add the contract end date to my profile, thanks for the suggestion.

    I don't believe I need to be constantly telling people I'm looking out for a new contract. I'm not looking for something new every day. It's just an ad hoc basis when I get the feeling I might be the next one out and on Linkedin I find searching for contract only positions hard to do. It doesn't specify if the positions your searching on are permanent or contract, just the industry, location, job type etc.
