    Company Name

Hi guys. So initially starting off under an umbrella and done "my homework" on setting up a ltd co. The last bit I'm stuck on is choosing a name.

So would like to know how you peepz came about with your company names. Also is it important to have an online presence?

Don't have a name too closely linked to your existing USP.

I did and had to change the name recently because I changed my field of work but was still being associated with the old field.

I may soon have the same problem.

How much hassle and how much money is it to change company name?

Mine was based on callsign when I was in the forces

At the moment I don't have an online presence though I have been working on it, I really should pull my finger out but I've had no time

Mine is a portmanteau of my real name but backwards, online presences is a no brainer, even if its just for an email address in the company name and a brief home page, it surprises me how many people have sent CV's from gmail or hotmail addresses still

I still use Hotmail. It is now Outlook (online) and is not much different to Office online and soon will no doubt be integrated properly.

You would be surprised how many client companies use services like gmail on a corporate basis.

                Nothing wrong with free services.

Mine seemed sensible at the time and is good because it has both our initials in it showing my wife is an equal partner since setup.

I did make it too long though and realised what a pain it was when writing cheques back in the day.

My websapce was only bought to get the email address really but I think it gives a more professional look to emails, especially on my Plan B.
