Horses for courses, fine pay for a bespoke domain, but IMHO nothing wrong with <companyname>@outlook.com or whatever, showing financial prudence to HMRC.

Yes, Lord Snooty, I'll get on it right away.

TBH, if you were hiring and turned me away because I have a hotmail account, I would think I had a lucky escape.

    +1

My daughter did some work for an American company and had a gmail account set up to project the company name as the domain name.

You would be surprised how many client companies use services like gmail on a corporate basis.

    Nothing wrong with free services.

Mine seemed sensible at the time and is good because it has both our initials in it showing my wife is an equal partner since setup.

I did make it too long though and realised what a pain it was when writing cheques back in the day.

My websapce was only bought to get the email address really but I think it gives a more professional look to emails, especially on my Plan B.
