Quite often I've got nothing to do and those tasked with giving me work (let's call them what they are: Managers) aren't giving me much to do. How do you stave off boredom? Do you actively seek work, if so, how?

In theory it sounds great being paid a daily rate for doing very little but am finding it very boring at the moment sitting in an office all day whiling away the hours. It also raises the question that I might find myself surplus to requirements. Some times I'm getting up and going for a piss just for something to do... help!
Extended dumps, cracking one off in the big a few times a day, web surfing, sleeping, skiving off early and hope n-one notices.

Right, well all the sensible suggestions are met with reasons why you can't do them. Christ, what advice do you want from us? Get a new gig. There, that's your answer to overcoming boredom.

          Old Skool!

That was funny seeing it amongst the other suggestions and from who it came from.

In a very similar situation at the moment. Just putting my CV on line and setting up email alerts.
Luckily I can work 3 days per week from home on this gig, so no problems when pimps call

2 days bored then, 3 days watching Jeremy Kyle and getting paid for it.

The British version would involve queuing, lots of "excuse me, pardon me" and a gavel.
No one would be asked to "back yo junk up outta ma face b##ch.".

Sounds ideal, but it isn't. Not feeling happy about it and every time the person who calls herself my manager calls I think it's to say they are going to ditch the contract. Just not good for my nerves
