Not so. If the UK had stayed in the EU and not joined the Schengen zone, then travellers would just use the EU/CH/EEA lane as they did before. Just like the Irish and Cypriots do now.

Wrong in so many ways,Originally posted by Uncle Albert View PostJust re-joining the EU won't make any difference. The UK would have to join Schengen."A people that elect corrupt politicians, imposters, thieves and traitors are not victims, but accomplices," George OrwellComment

Here's something funny.
It's soon going to start costing us in the region of £200m/year to travel to the EU.
Approximately 40million* brits travel to the EU every year.
ETIAS will cost 20euro (£17) per person and lasts 3** years.
40million * £17 / 3 = £226m/year
* This is probably an overestimate because under 18s don't have to pay.
** Actually, on average, it will last less than 3 years. It's only 3 years if you've got at least 3 years on your passport. Whenever you renew your passport, you'll have to renew ETIAS.Last edited by woody1; Today, 08:03.Comment

No worse than paying to go to many other countries with similar schemes. Yes, we could now be saving £17 each if we didn't have a spineless PM back in 2016.Originally posted by woody1 View PostHere's something funny.
