I reckon NI will go first. Their devolved settlement allows for the holding of referenda at their own behest. It also stipulates (UK govt words, not mine) that they should not be held any more often than once in a generation, or seven years.Originally posted by Eirikur View Post
If I remember correctly, the Westminster MP numbers for NI now give a slight advantage to the republicans (yes, I know they don't sit in WM). Who knows what the next NI assembly elections will bring.

A widely held opinion in Ireland and at quite a senior level too is that reunification will happen before 2030.
The provision for a referendum on this was provided for in the Good Friday Agreement.
Many are surprised it hasn't happened yet.
With Arlene gone there is less pandering to the government.
As for the riots. Any evening you like these days. Pick your Belfast or Derry street - no need to be picky!
