Name a couple of regs that our farmers could have changed to help them, that currently hinders them but not the French. And don't just quote "CAP", actually explain what the impact is on our farmers compared to the French.

Kinda depends how you look at it. It's like £350m versus 2.4% of government spend. One makes great marketing spin, the other puts it into perspective.

UK farmers used to get €28b per year. UK farming contributes about 0.6% to the UK economy.
French farmers receive about €63b per year. They contribute around 1.8% to the French economy.

So, they contribute 3x as much to the economy, but receive just over 2x as much in subsidies.
Maybe if UK farmers contributed more to the economy, they'd have got more in subsidies.

Well that's the thing if you could target and encourage farmers in the UK to be more efficient and perhaps to target different types of farming etc you could make it more profitable. As it is we just finance the French farmers and those with the bigger farms win.

The blue passports are great. Again, an open Britain had them made in France or Poland, doesn't matter. Just shows how open we are.

There's 2 pillars to CAP - the BPS and Rural Development. Both are overseen by DEFRA. In countries like Germany, the rural development side takes <5% of the budget. The UK government takes 15%. Yes, over 3x the amount that other countries take.
Then each government decides on their own rules as to how they are going to allocate out the funds. It's called a direct payment, but it all goes through HM Gov.
