Given half a chance I'd retire to Ireland - not sure how you equate that to me loving the EU.Originally posted by DealorNoDeal View Post -

If you hated the EU, you wouldn't live in it. So you either love it, or are neutral about it. Neither really fits the vituperative posts you frequently make on the subject. (Yes, I know you don't believe a word of it and are just trolling, but I'd expect you to at least keep up appearances).Originally posted by Zigenare View PostGiven half a chance I'd retire to Ireland - not sure how you equate that to me loving the EU.Down with racism. You see, you're confusing liking a country with liking an organisation. I like Ireland. I like the West Coast of Scotland. Having worked in Germany, France, Belgium, Holland there are parts of those countries I like too.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostIf you hated the EU, you wouldn't live in it. Would you like to find a single shred of evidence of me ever saying I hate the EU? I don't hate it, I just don't wish for the UK to be a part of it.Last edited by Zigenare; 31 January 2020, 11:34.Comment

If you had been more successful maybe you'd have a full chance. Unfortunately you're a failure, you can't do what you want so you voted to stop others doing the same. Typical bitter old gammon. It's a shame really, as you'd do the UK some benefit by fookin offOriginally posted by Zigenare View PostGiven half a chance I'd retire to Ireland - not sure how you equate that to me loving the EU.

The run in to the end of the year should be particularly entertaining when Boris realises he can't deliver a brexit to keep the majority happy

At the most recent poll, the majority (52%) wanted to stay in the EU so he won't be able to please them. That said, a majority of the population voted for Boris. Make of that what you can. Certainly polls showed as Brexit progressed, Brexiteers became more and more disillusioned. They realised the benefits were much less than promised and the price to pay much higher. However they got mesmerized by the right wing press in this country into thinking 'democracy' should be respected and they got so fed up with the pain and disconnect with their self delusion that they just wanted it over and done with, however damaging. They also were inclined to project this conflict onto the EU - it was the EU bully boys who were frustrating their silly dream, and they were not inclined to give into bullying.Originally posted by Whorty View PostThe run in to the end of the year should be particularly entertaining when Boris realises he can't deliver a brexit to keep the majority happy
When the truth starts to emerge later on in the year (probably not until December because of Dom Cummings' brinkmanship) Brexiteers will be even more depressed but I don't see any mechanism by which this can be stopped. The Tories have packed the Commons with idiots who will gladly vote whatever they're told just to keep their cushy numbers.
Brexit will roll on for years.
But, as Original PM reminds us, let's be positive. At some point in the future we will re-join the EU, and hopefully get the economic boost we got the last time."Don't part with your illusions; when they are gone you may still exist, but you have ceased to live" Mark TwainComment
