No 10 source: ‘as the polls show, the voters are quite happy for the PM to get rid of people who don’t want us to sort out Brexit. There a plenty of talented younger MPs to replace any deadwood.’

We'll see. After an abysmal week, the polling still looks decent, FWIW; 10+ pts over Labour.

Anyway, strategy is clear. Get rid of the hardcore remainers and have an election where the bar for "winning" is lower because all MPs will be signed up.

Will it work? Who knows. Probably not if they can't get an election before 31 Oct.

This time she's resigned the whip.

Even Ken Clarke would prefer Corbyn to Boris.

She would have lost her seat anyway.

What I don't understand is Amber Rudd saying Boris is not negotiating enough with the EU. And focusing too much on no deal.

The EU will not change its deal one bit. Why should they?

It was always clear to me the 2016 vote was remain or leave with no deal. There was no way of leaving with a deal.
