    Oh dear

“EU leaders have nominated two women to Brussels' most important jobs for the first time, picking Ursula von der Leyen, a German defence minister who supports a United States of Europe and an EU army, to be the next president of the European Commission and Christine Lagarde to lead the European Central Bank.”

So basically there was a lot of gnashing of teeth, but they eventually found someone good enough to replace Jean-Claude Drunker.

On the downside, one's a criminal and the other is criminally incompetent, depending on who you ask.

Still, at least they were nominated and elected in an atmosphere of transparency and cooperation.

The inconvenient truth about Ursula von der Leyen – POLITICO

Just a sideways move to get her out of the German parliament apparently.

Since when the truth was convenient?

If it's convenient it's most likely a lie

Someone is pulling some strings somewhere.

And they don't have the best interests of the population of the EU in mind.
