A dangerous, unpredictable precedent for the future

“It is disappointing to see this amendment pass, as the government made a clear commitment to provide a process to find a majority in parliament for a way forward this week.

This amendment instead upends the balance between our democratic institutions and sets a dangerous, unpredictable precedent for the future.

While it is now up to parliament to set out next steps in respect of this amendment, the government will continue to call for realism – any options considered must be deliverable in negotiations with the EU. Parliament should take account of how long these negotiations would take, and if they’d require a longer extension which would mean holding European parliamentary elections.”

Yeah, very dangerous precedent that the Parliament is Supreme

It's May's fault. She insisted on the usual Party first, confrontational power-politics, instead of a national government that might have actually produced a workable, deliverable Brexit.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if she intends to run the clock down to 12th April to force MPs to vote for her deal or face a no-deal.

If she does that, it will only be a matter of time before Labour calls another vote of no confidence and this time the Government may fall. There are enough Tory MPs who will never countenance no-deal.

While May is the obvious headline figure, there are a few others that deserve their fair share as well:
            - MPs that gave May the power to trigger A50 without any plan
            - Media and leading Brexiters that cheered on (bullied) May in to triggering A50 without any plan
            - Leading Brexiters such as Davis, Johnson, etc that were put into positions of power and accountability early in the phase and did nothing with it. Useless tits.
            - whoever advised May to call that election. FFS.

It is not all May's fault.

The politicians of the UK have completely and utterly failed at their job purely due to greed and wanting to get what is best for them.

Another GE is what we need - many people will not vote as that has been shown to clearly not matter.

So probably Corbyn will get in - and you all get what you want.

Which obviously won't be basic things like food and water but hey fook it we'll still be in the EU so maybe they could come and rescue us.

FFS i'm gonna get a 1 way ticket to Mars.

Brexit weekly briefing: parliament seizes control as May flounders | Politics | The Guardian

"Her fundamental Conservative problem remains: any move to seek consensus across the house on a softer Brexit, and her Eurosceptic hardliners erupt. Any push for a no deal and the pro-Europeans desert her."

Who, exactly, constitutes this group you refer to as "you"? And what is it that they want?
