Exactly that - this thread is about things the UK could do if/when they leave the EU.Originally posted by meridian View PostWhat’s your point?

Well, the answer to that lies on parallel timelines.Originally posted by original PM View PostExactly that - this thread is about things the UK could do if/when they leave the EU.

In the timeline where the last two years hadn’t happened, we would continue to have economic and political influence.
In our current timeline, if we ever decided to revoke A50 and remain in the EU we would now be seen as politically and diplomatically inept and we’re less likely to have the same amount of influence as we did before.
The U.K. has been found out as a nation of incompetents, and will be treated as such going forward whether we leave or remain.Comment

Well yes we would continue to pay in more than we got out for the privilege of being ignored.

The only people who want this are the remainers who want the UK to look politically and diplomatically inept so they can realise the dream of a one state Europe.

That takes the biscuit - do you really want drunk Uncle Junker having any impact on your life? Is that what you see as competent?Comment

You think the U.K. has been ignored. That’s what the MSM tells you. The fact is that the U.K. has been highly influential over the past 40 years within the EU.Originally posted by original PM View Post"we would continue to have economic and political influence."

Will Juncker have any impact on my life? No, his term ends in October. Has he had any impact on my life so far? No, not as far as I can tell.
What impact has he had on your life?Comment

When the referendum result was announced, I thought, oh well, maybe it will work, maybe a decent leader will come forward and if not lead us to sunlit uplands, at least mitigate the worse aspects, and maybe even deliver some of the promises that the leave campaign made. Maybe Britain would emerge stronger, despite my concerns.Originally posted by original PM View PostThe U.K. has been found out as a nation of incompetents, and will be treated as such going forward whether we leave or remain
Instead, we've got the current shower of tulip. No leadership, no concern about the country as a whole from either Labour or Conservative, just political division and short term power politics. And yes, Britain has been found out. And it's not just the EU who will take advantage of that.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

As Brexit falls apart, the blame game has started.
When the UK joined the EU, the "joiners" weren't hindered by the EEC sceptics. At the time the UK joined, the Labour party made it official policy to leave the EEC, they first organised a referendum and when that failed they put leaving in as the main point of their manifesto for the 1983 General Election.
The Brexiteers are making a mess of Brexit because the whole leave movement is inept. If they can't handle the opposition they should hand control back to the "Remoaners".
I'm alright JackComment

And there, in one small sentence, is the problem with brexiters. Constantly playing the victim, their failure always blamed on someone else.Originally posted by original PM View Post[I]Well yes we would continue to pay in more than we got out for the privilege of being ignored.
MTFU fella. It's not always someone else's fault. I know most people ignore you, but maybe if you stopped being a victim and talking rubbish, people would ignore you less

I doubt that - because the EU's only interest is in the continuation of the EU and so every citizen who disagrees with the principle of the EU should expect to be ignored, ridiculed and made irrelevant - i would imagine eventually the small voice anyone has will soon be silenced one way or the other.Originally posted by Whorty View PostAnd there, in one small sentence, is the problem with brexiters. I genuinely do not understand why you think paying for more bureaucracy and more government is a good idea.Comment
