Where do you get your information from ?
I was specifically referring to JLR shutting down UK production, which is happening, albeit in stages. You do need to remember that the whole UK motor industry was on strike in 1972. And 1973. And 1974...

Do you have any evidence for that ?

I have evidence that refutes what you say

      Car Imports by Country

no evidence of Eastern Europe flooding the UK with cheap cars.

Doesn't change the fact that over the last 20 years the UK has increased production in the automotive industry steadily in spite of "Tony Bliar" and Eastern Europe still manufactures a tiny amount of cars.

Watch it plummet over the next few years,

They won't have to say "Made in Bulgaria", will they. They'll only have to say "Made in the EU".

Looks like the numbers you are quoting will be changing quite radically quite soon...

What's that list got to do with anything? If you look at the car's VIN or even inside them it will say where they were built...Then again I presume it'll soon be 'Made in the UK' for all Commonwealth manufactured products. In fact, a 'Made in...' means bollocks as unless all the components were sourced from the same country then it's only 'Assembled in...'
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

If JLR made decent cars, people would buy them.

You seem to be suggesting that cars made in Mexico and the US are being exported to the UK.

The Germans export and manufacture cars all over the world including the UK. The number of German cars exported to the UK from Eastern Europe are included in that statistic posted, i.e. tiny. Eastern European countries don't have their own cars they manufacture cars from foreign manufacturers, mainly German. They are in the statistics.

It is simply irrelevant to the discussion of UK car manufacturing.

No, they are not decent. They're unreliable, incredibly expensive to maintain, and they're wasteful.
