Yet again. Nowhere close to the actual truth. In fact I was promoted 3 times within the first 6-7 years, which is as fast as it is possible to progress in a peacetime professional Army whilst still remaining on the technical ladder which almost guarantees future lucrative employment.
Anyone with even the most cursory knowledge of how the Armed Forces works in peace time will understand this.
