EU to UK pricing & vice versa was much lower than Africa before the EU limited it a year ago so yes the calls costs will be higher on the link I showed.

And if it becomes an issue the mobile companies will be undercut by alternative solutions. The most likely one being a redirect to a voip line and / or a native sim. That was what we did with travelling executives 15 years ago when it was a real rip off, we stopped doing that about 2009 well before the EU got excited.

Not clutching at straws, I was using it professionally 30 years ago. We had customers that used muxes on leased lines and break outs in each country, in fact they still do, the world is bigger than the EU.
That won't work. BT has already cottoned on to this on their land lines and they now charge premium rates for any number or connection to VOIP.

A native sim will not make any difference, I already do that for non-EU countries.

You're not suggesting that vetran (sic) doesn't know what he's talking about are you? Shirley not.

There are other suppliers than BT. Have been for a hundred years (1902).

So you are already using my suggestion in a similar situation yet doubting it would work if post brexit the mobile phone companies break their word and decide to charge more. How very weird, its like arguing with AssGuru but without the lobotomy , rolling smillies or the cretin comments. Is this a remoaner thing?

And who do you think other suppliers are leasing lines from?

          BT aka OpenReach

Again you just don't get it.

FYI. Almost if not all landline and mobile companies will charge a premium for VoIP even if it is an 0800 number. Read the T&Cs.

It is not your idea to buy a local sim card, many people do that. However, whatever the method, it is more expensive to phone outside the EU. One the UK has left, it will cost more to call to and from the UK. All the major mobile companies geared up fr the change shortly after the Brexit vote.

Thanks to the Brexit vote, what would be a simple trip to the continent will involve more expense and bother. So far there is no agreement for car insurance being valid, no agreement for temporary importation of a vehicle, no driving licence agreement and most likely roaming charges not to mention customs restrictions and delays.

nope. The business telecoms market is more diverse than that. Do try some research, or you can talk out of your arse.

Sorted so now we widen the argument because you have lost already. Where is "What The Feckwit He is" & "Normally A Tool" when you need them, so they can accuse you of being twisty and avoiding the argument?

Yes there will be changes but as has been already covered International driving license needed £5.50, International Insurance (covered by my international insurer) and a reset to 2016 for mobile calls its hardly back to the middle ages.

Strangely I know people who worked & travelled in Europe before 1973 and it was possible.
